Five Thumbs you ask? Who has five thumbs? No one... except that most of us have had a day when it seems that way. Actually, the 5-Thumbs is a group of men who get together once a week to do maintenance at St. Mark’s Church. (women are most welcome too).
Just what do we do? We change light bulbs, carry away dead flowers, put out and take in garden hose as the seasons dictate, maintain vacuum cleaners and other “heavy maintenance”. There are occasionally small electrical and plumbing tasks and even some landscaping chores. The work we do helps the parish finances by saving the costs of a paid maintenance person, and on occasion the skilled tradesman.
We meet on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 and are usually done by noon, when the work is done and we've had time for some fellowship.
